Spartan Softball Gives Back to the Community

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

For the fourth-straight year, the Case Western Reserve University softball team took part in a Ten Thousand Villages' Fair Trade Difference event. The team contributed by moving hundreds of "Bunyaad" rugs to be sold in support of lives, culture and education in Pakistan.

According to the Ten Thousand Villages website, the company provides well made, quality products for customers and a fair livable income for its artisans. The company employs minimal full-time employees as 70% of the work performed in its shops is volunteer-based.

The Spartans softball team unloaded 10,000 pounds worth of oriental rugs on September 21st and then reloaded them after the sale on September 25th

The Spartans also hosted their annual Alumni Game on September 24th. Head Coach Josie Henry welcomed back many past players.
