Women's soccer topped by No. 3 Washington - St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The women's soccer team competed with nationally ranked Washington University on Tuesday night and returned home with an 8-0 defeat to the nation's No. 3 squad.  The Lady Panthers limited Washington to three first half goals before permitting an onslaught of five in the second half.

Greenville faced 47 shots in the contest, and their goalkeepers had 16 saves.  Hope Brakenhoff came up with nine saves in the first half, and Lourdes Machado stopped seven shots in the second half.

Greenville's Breanna Thomas managed to get the team's shot in the second half.

The Lady Panthers (2-3) travel to Coe for a match on Friday.
