Softball Falls to #24 Washington University

The Westminster softball team fell to the #24 ranked Washington University-St. Louis on Saturday, 7-0. The Westminster Blue Jays leave the Warrior Spring Fling 0-3.

The Washington Bears scored one in the first inning and another in the third inning. In the sixth, they scored four to take a 6-0 lead. In the top of the seventh, the Bears scored one more to take a 7-0 lead.

The Blue Jays finished with four hits. Freshman Amber Tepen went 2-3 from the plate. Freshman first baseman Peyton Hall had seven putouts while sophomore catcher Alyssa Johnson had six. Sophomore shortstop Brittany Hodge had five assists.

Sophomore pitcher Alyson Hahn started the game at the mound. She faced 27 batters and struck out four. Freshman Kat Cooper came in as a relief and pitched the last out of the sixth inning. Tepen pitched the final inning and struck out one.

The Blue Jays host Stephens College for the first home doubleheader on Friday, March 6 at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.
