For the second time in three weeks, University of Chicago baseball player Kyle Engel was selected as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Hitter of the Week on Monday. Additionally, Engel's plate prowess also netted him a spot on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Engel kept up his hot hitting with a .667 batting average (16-24) and six multiple-hit games last week. He drove in 15 runs and smacked six doubles as the Maroons posted a 4-2 record in those games.

The senior third baseman currently leads the nation in batting average (.504) and doubles (25). Engel has also totaled four home runs, 42 RBI and six stolen bases this year.

Last Wednesday versus Concordia (Wis.) University, his 20th double broke the school's single-season record. On Sunday at Eureka College, Engel broke the UChicago record for hits in a season (61).
