The New York University baseball team, which recently returned
to varsity status, was
featured in the New York Times on Wednesday,
March 4.
Tom Pedulla, a veteran New York City sportswriter, authored the
article which focuses on the potential challenges the
Violets will face as a varsity program for the first time in 41
years. The article also includes the program's
first win earlier in the season. .
NYU Head Coach Doug Kimbler and a small
contingent of his players were quoted throughout the article on
their experiences to this point and feelings on the
future.
"Our expectation is we're going to be pretty good pretty quickly,"
Kimbler told The Times.
Due to harsh weather conditions, NYU has only played three games
thus far. The Violets will escape the cold weather and travel to
Florida to play their University Athletic Association (UAA)
schedule from Sunday, March 8, through Sunday, March 15. NYU's
first game of the trip will take place against Emory University on
Sunday, March 8.
