CJ Picerni of the New York University baseball team was named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Metro All-Star Team on Tuesday, June 9. 

Picerni anchored the Violet squad from behind the plate, starting 32 games as a catcher and designated hitter. He led the team in hits (48), triples (5), home runs (3), runs batted in (39), and total bases (74). The Calabasas, CA, native finished among the top-10 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in all five of those offensive categories, including tying for second place in triples.

The sophomore was previously named Second-Team All-UAA and to the UAA's All-Tournament Team.

Picerni helped lead NYU to a 21-23 record in its first season as a Division III varsity program.
