Five Emory University Baseball players were named to the America Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-South Region Teams as announced by the organization last week. Senior Dylan Eisner and juniors Hans Hansen and Kyle Monk were selected to the Second Team with juniors Brian Hernandez and Jackson Weeg being named to the Third Team.

Eisner makes his first career appearance on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team after a career season in 2016. Eisner batted a person-best .368 while playing in all 46 games (44 starts), leading the team with a .359 on-base percentage and ranked second on the squad in hits (60), hits (36), doubles (8), RBI (28), walks (28), stolen bases (15) and assists (133).

Hansen also earns his first selection to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team after a terrific season on the mound. Hansen posted a team-high nine victories, going 9-2 in 12 starts with a career-low 2.09 earned run average and 46 strikeouts in 81.2 innings pitched. Over the course of the season, Hansen had two scoreless streaks spanning at least 20 innings and was named to the NCAA South Regional Tournament Team after spinning the first complete game shutout in Emory NCAA Tournament history. Earlier this season, the Playa del Rey, CA native was selected to the D3baseball.com South Regional Third Team and the University Athletic Association First Team. Hansen also led the team with four UAA Athlete of the Week honors.

Monk claims his second ABCA/Rawlings All-Region selection after making the Third Team as a sophomore. Monk posted a team-low 1.36 ERA in 46.1 innings, compiling a 4-3 record with 11 saves. He was second on the team with an opponent's batting average of .212 and had a 46:10 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Last week, Monk earned Honorable Mention All-America honors by D3Baseball.com and was the first ever Emory recipient, male or female, of the prestigious Elite 90 Award for having the highest GPA of any participant at the NCAA Division III Baseball Championships. Monk, in addition, was a First Team All-UAA selection and was chosen as the UAA Athlete of the Week on February 15th.

Like Eisner and Hansen, Hernandez makes his first appearance on the ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region Team, checking in on the Third Team. Hernandez was Emory's most prolific hitter during the 2016 season as he led the team in batting average (.376), hits (65), doubles (10), home runs (4), RBI (50), sacrifice flies (9) and was second with a .514 slugging percentage. Hernandez was named to the NCAA South Regional All-Tournament team after batting .400 (6-for-15) with six RBI in Emory's four contests. The Miami, Fla. native has added All-UAA First Team and D3baseball.com All-South Region Third Team honors, was the UAA Hitter of the Week twice and made the D3baseball.com National Team of the Week on February 15th.

Weeg closes out the Emory honorees with his selection to the Third Team after earning Second Team honors as a sophomore. Weeg finished his junior season with a 7-1 record and 2.28 ERA in 15 appearances (14 GS), racking up a team-high 78 strikeouts in 94.2 innings pitched. Earlier this season, the Woodstock, GA native was placed on the All-UAA First Team as well as the D3baseball.com All-South Region Second Team and was the lone Eagle on the UAA All-Tournament team.

The Eagles concluded the 2016 season with a 34-12 overall record and the team's third consecutive appearance in the College World Series.
