NYU Defeats Yeshiva at Home

From NYU Athletics

The New York University baseball team (18-21) defeated Yeshiva University (2-27) by a score of 13-0 on Thursday, May 5, at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY.

NYU scored the game's first run in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI double by Adrian Spitz.

The offensive display continued in the fourth inning as the Violets scored three more runs.

Extending their lead again in the bottom of the fifth inning on an RBI single from Jack Elias, NYU's offense had another productive inning in the sixth, plating six more runs on RBI doubles from Jonathan Iaione and Spitz mixed in with Yeshiva errors to bring the score to 11-0.

NYU again put a run across in each of the next two innings for the game's final margin.

"We took advantage of their mistakes," said Head Coach Doug Kimbler. "At first, we came out a little sluggish but then we settled in and our pitchers did their jobs."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Spitz went 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

- The Violets used seven pitchers in the game, with Paul Gadaleta leading the way with three strikeouts. Eli Edwards picked up the victory.
