This marks the first time Emory has been ranked No.-1 in the country by D3Baseball.com since the publication first began releasing weekly rankings in 2011.

The Eagles have been led by their superb pitching staff in 2017, as the team has posted a 2.00 earned run average through 90 innings with 95 strikeouts and an opponent's batting average of .201. No Eagle pitcher has been better so far this season than sophomore Billy Dimlow. Through 22 innings of work, the second-year right-hander has yet to allow an earned run while striking out 30 batters compared to just two walks, holding opponents to a .130 clip.

On Monday afternoon, Dimlow was named the University Athletic Association's Co-Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season. Dimlow spun eight innings on Saturday in the Eagles 5-1 win over Huntingdon. He gave up one unearned on seven hits and a walk, striking out 10 Hawk batters. The double-digit strikeout total was Dimlow's second outing of the year with 10 or more Ks as he sent down 12 Sewanee hitters across seven shutout innings in his season debut.
