Brad Margolin of Washington University Earns All-America Honors by Multiple Organizations

From Washington University Athletics

Senior pitcher Brad Margolin was selected to the 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-America Second Team in addition to being named All-America honorable mention by D3baseball.com.

Margolin's All-America selection marks the third straight season WashU has had a player honored, as Ben Browdy (2016) and Chris Lowery (2015) earned the distinction the past two seasons.

He strung together seven straight starts of allowing two or fewer earned runs from March 16 to May 12. During that period of time Margolin threw six complete games including three consecutive shutouts against University Athletic Association (UAA) opponents.

He finished the season with a 9-2 record, a 1.98 earned run average during 82 innings pitched, allowing 56 hits and seven walks while striking out 69 batters. Margolin concluded his career within the top-10 in WashU's record book of wins (23 – fourth), innings pitched (237 – sixth) and earned run average (2.39 – seventh).

On the season, Margolin was awarded UAA Co-Pitcher of the Year, all-UAA First Team honors and All-Central Region honors by both D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings.
