Case Western Reserve University junior second baseman Rocco Maue (Moon Township, Pa. / Moon Area) added an American Baseball Coaches Association/ Rawlings All-America Third Team award to his list of 2018 honors, as the organization's annual awards were released at the NCAA Championship banquet on Thursday night.

Maue, who was named to the D3baseball.com All-America First Team earlier in the week, becomes just the third player in program history to earn ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors, joining Andrew Gronski (second team in 2014) and Chad Mullins (first team in 2011).

An All-Mideast Region First Team selection in 2018 by both D3baseball.com and the ABCA, Maue was named the University Athletic Association Position Player of the Year and earned all-conference first team honors in 2018 after batting .358 with a program-record 11 home runs (18th in Division III currently) and 35 runs batted in.  He also led all UAA players with 26 stolen bases (28th in Division III) on 27 attempts and was second in the conference and 38th in Division III with 52 runs scored during the campaign.  Maue led the team with 16 multiple-hit games during the year, including a three-home run, five-hit game against Roger Williams in March, and registered a team-long 14 game hitting streak during the campaign.

In addition to his work at the plate, Maue had a stellar defensive season at second base, committing just five errors all year and registering a .977 fielding percentage, while turning 32 double plays.

Maue was named the UAA Hitter of the Week on three occasions during the year and received D3baseball.com Team of the Week recognition on March 20th.

Case Western Reserve finished the 2018 season with a 29-10 record, claiming the third UAA Championship overall and first outright title in program history.
