NYU Wraps Up Homestand With Unbeaten Record

From NYU Athletics

The New York University baseball team extended its season-opening winning streak to five games on Tuesday, March 6, with a 17-2 victory over St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY.

All nine batters in the NYU (5-0) starting lineup recorded at least one hit, and starting pitcher Cameron Serapilio-Frank recorded a program-record 10 strikeouts as the Violets rolled to another victory.

Serapilio-Frank tossed six innings for the second-consecutive outing and is now 2-0 on the season. The senior allowed just four hits, walked two and didn't allow an earned run. His ERA remains 0.00 through 12 innings this season.

Five different Violets tallied two hits in the win for a NYU offense that scored once in the first inning and broke the game open with three runs in the third and fifth innings and a seven-run sixth inning.

Ryan McLaughlin came around to score three times on Tuesday, while Jack Walter, Isaac Martinez and Francis Prior each knocked in a pair of runs.

NOTABLES:

- Zach Cohen and Gabriel Golob each pitched a scoreless inning out of the bullpen. Cohen struck out a pair of St. Joseph's hitters.

- Nick Loffredo stole a pair of bases for NYU.

- The Violets out-hit the Bears 17-6.
