For the second-consecutive season, Case Western Reserve University senior second baseman Rocco Maue (Moon Township, Pa. / Moon Area) was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Division III Baseball First Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Maue becomes the 107th Academic All-American in the history of CWRU athletics (and the 51st first team selection), and is the third Spartan to receive the honor during the 2018-19 academic year.  It marks the seventh time in the history of the CWRU baseball program that a player has received the award, including five first team honorees, and it is the first time in program history that a player has been a repeat Academic All-American.

In addition, he was one of just six repeat Google Cloud Academic All-America honorees on this year's team, one of just two repeat first team honorees from 2018.

Maue, a two-time ABCA All-Region Selection, including a third team nod this season, started 38 games at second base and finished the year batting .354, the second-highest mark on the team. He led all Spartan players with 40 runs batted in, 36 runs scored and 18 stolen bases (on 21 attempts), while also collecting seven doubles, four triples and six home runs. Maue was named to the All-UAA First Team, while claiming UAA Athlete of the Week honors on March 25th and a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on March 26th. He was also named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America First Team earlier this year, after being selected as the UAA Most Valuable Player and claiming both ABCA and D3baseball.com All-America honors as a junior.

Academically, Maue has carried a 4.0 cumulative grade point average as a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering major at CWRU. He was named a UAA Presidents' Scholar-Athlete in 2018, and is a three-time Academic All-UAA honoree.

The Spartans finished the 2019 season with a 24-15 overall record, as the team recorded its 10th-straight winning season and made the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history.
