From Carnegie Mellon University Athletics

Freshman Drew Fitzmorris of the Carnegie Mellon University football team was honored for his play on the gridiron this past week in the Tartans' 22-21 victory over Geneva College. Fitzmorris was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week, University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Athlete of the Week and Corvias Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southwest Rookie of the Week.

Fitzmorris recorded a career-best 12 tackles including nine solo in Saturday's victory. The freshman recorded one tackle for a loss while forcing the fumble that Kohman recovered. Fitzmorris also applied pressure on the quarterback, forcing an errant throw that allowed another Tartan interception late in the fourth quarter.
