University of Chicago senior football player Scott Mainquist was selected Third Team All-American by D3Football.com on Friday.

Two weeks earlier, Mainquist was a First Team All-Region pick from D3Football. The defensive tackle had a career-best senior campaign with 43 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks and a team-high eight quarterback hurries. At the conclusion of the season, Mainquist was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Defensive Player of the Year. The Maroons compiled an 8-1 record on the season and won the UAA title.
