Alec Stanke of Washington Garners D3football.com All-South Region Honors

Washington University in St. Louis junior punter Alec Stanke was named to the 2014 D3football.com All-South Region Team, as announced Monday by the website.

Stanke, a second-team honoree, led the conference and is tied for fourth in NCAA Division III in punting average (42.3). He had eight punts over 50 yards, with a career-long 65 yarder at Centre College Sept. 27, and landed 11 punts inside the 20-yard line. As a team, Washington University's net punting ranks first in NCAA Division III with a mark of 38.13.

Stanke the 2014 University Athletic Association (UAA) Special Teams Player of the Year, enters his senior season ranked third in school history in punting average (39.6).

Washington U. finished the 2014 season with a 4-6 overall record and tied for second in the UAA standings.
