University of Chicago football player Vincent Beltrano secured one of 22 selections to the 2015 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team on Tuesday.

The Good Works Team is co-sponsored by Allstate Insurance Company and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Established in 1992, the Good Works Team recognizes collegiate football players who have made a positive difference in their communities with volunteerism and acts of service for those in need. The 2015 honorees included 11 players from NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (I-A) and 11 players from NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (I-AA), Divisions II, III and NAIA.

Beltrano is currently competing in his senior season as a cornerback and kick/punt returner for the Maroons. He totaled three tackles and two pass breakups in the season-opening 31-30 victory over Case Western Reserve University, including a key fourth-down breakup on Case's final drive. He came into the season as a Preseason Second Team All-American from D3football.com.

In the volunteer realm, Beltrano is a co-founder and co-president of the Project Rousseau chapter at the University of Chicago, which is a comprehensive four-year mentoring program focused on assisting underprivileged high school students to reach their potential both inside and outside the realm of academia. The senior has also taken part in flag football fundraisers for cancer research benefitting the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and for financial literacy programs Phroogal and Moneythink. Additionally, he's been involved in the Points For Patriots Basketball Tournament, which raises money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
