Maroons' Vincent Beltrano Selected as First Team All-American by D3football.com

From University of Chicago Athletics

University of Chicago senior Vincent Beltrano wrapped up his collegiate football career with First Team All-American honors from D3football.com on Friday.

Beltrano became the 13th UChicago football All-American in the modern era (since 1969). The senior cornerback was previously named First Team All-South Region on Dec. 7 and is a three-time D3football.com All-Region pick.

In his senior season, Beltrano racked up four interceptions and 12 passes defended. He owns the school record for career passes defended with 40 and is tied for the school record in career interceptions with 15. He added 67 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 22.0 yards per kick return and 8.1 yards per punt return in the 2015 campaign.

Beltrano is also the third Maroon football player to earn both All-American and Academic All-American selections in the same season. Frank Baker (1993) and Bruce Montella (1985) both achieved that distinction from their running back positions.
