Alex Hallwachs of Washington Named to Fred Mitchell Award Watch List

Washington University in St. Louis senior Alex Hallwachs was one of 41 kickers named to the 2015 Fred Mitchell Award Watch List, as announced by the organization.

Hallwachs was named to the watch list for the third-straight season.

The list includes kickers from National Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The kickers were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community. Hallwachs is one of 12 Division III kickers named to the team.

A 2014 first-team all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, Hallwachs led the league in scoring with 72 points on 15-of-21 field goals and 27-of-29 PATs.  He was fourth in NCAA Division III in field goals per game (1.5) and tied a single-season school record in field goals made.

Hallwachs was a 2014 Capital One Second-Team Academic All-America selection and a four-time UAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week honoree.

He is a New Dimensions volunteer via the Koaches 4 Kids organization, and also volunteered for eight weeks to help young children in the inner city developing leadership, self-motivation and teamwork skills through soccer. Hallwachs is also president of the Mortar Board Honor Society.
