From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

The Case Western Reserve University will be taking an international trip to Italy and Switzerland from May 11 – 19, for a week of sightseeing and an exhibition game against an international opponent.

The CWRU football team will be spending time in a number of cities, including Milan, Lake Como, Lucerne, Interlaken, Bern, and Zurich.

The team is slated to leave for Italy on Friday and arrive in Milan by Saturday.  Activities begin on Saturday with a guided tour of Milan before heading to Lake Como.  The Spartans will be touring Como on Sunday morning, before playing an exhibition game against the Milano Rhinos, the IFL Championship runner-up.

CWRU will then head to Lucerne, Switzerland on Monday for a tour of the city and an excursion to one of the highest points on the continent, Mt. Pilatus.  The team will spend Tuesday in Interlaken, and then spend the next two days in Bern, the capital city of Switzerland.  The Spartans will conclude the trip with a day in Zurich, prior to returning home to the United States.

The Spartans are coming off an 11-1 season in 2017, which included PAC and UAA Championships, and an NCAA Division III Playoff berth, as CWRU reached the second round of the tournament.  CWRU will kick off its 2018 season at home on September 1st with a non-conference matchup against the University of Rochester.
