The University of Chicago football team will be going gold in support of kids battling cancer at the UChicago Medicine - Comer Children's Hospital this Saturday, Oct. 7.

As part of Go4theGoal's Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer® initiative, all UChicago players and coaches will wear gold laces to raise awareness and funds for local children undergoing cancer treatments. This is the third-straight year that the Maroons will be Lacing Up, and this year they are making the event extra special by honoring local patients before kickoff.

"UChicago Football is proud to pair with Go4theGoal again this year to support children with cancer," said UChicago Defensive Coordinator Luke Cutkomp. "We are excited to have a number of children and their families attend the game from UChicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital. The children will be honorary captains for the game and participate in the coin toss pre-game with our players. Our hope is that we can raise awareness and support for children battling cancer."

"We're thrilled to have the continued support of UChicago Football," said Go4theGoal Athletic Coordinator Nick Kelleher. "This is the third year in-a-row that the Maroons have worked with us to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer, and this year they have gone above and beyond by honoring local patients during the game."
