Johnny Davidson and Nick Leduc Earn All-Region Honors

Washington University in St. Louis had a pair student-athletes named to the 2017 D3football.com All-South Region Second Team, as announced by the website Tuesday.

Sophomore punter Johnny Davidson was a repeat selection on the second team, while senior defensive lineman Nick Leduc earned the honor for the first time in his career.

Davidson, an honorable-mention all-University Athletic Association (UAA) selection, ranked second in the UAA and fourth in NCAA Division III in punting average (41.9). He punted 37 times for 1,550 yards with a career-best 73-yarder at Washington and Lee. Davidson was a two-time D3football.com Team of the Week and UAA Special Teams Athlete of the Week selection. The Bears' punt team ranked seventh in NCAA Division III (37.76).

Leduc, a first-team all-UAA selection, started five of nine games on the defensive line and recorded 39 tackles, a team-high 12 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He was first in the UAA in sacks and tackles for loss. Leduc tied a career-high with seven tackles vs. Chicago and at Washington and Lee. He also had a career-high 2.5 sacks vs. Chicago. Leduc concluded his career with 97 tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks.
