Dee Gose of CWRU Selected to Google Cloud Academic All-America Team

From Case Western Reserve University Athletics

Case Western Reserve University sophomore offensive lineman Dee Gose was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, based on his athletic and academic performance this year.

Gose was a standout on the Spartans' offensive line, earning a spot on the All-University Athletic Association First Team for his play.  He started all 10 games for the Spartans at left guard during his sophomore season, and helped the team's offense average 38.3 points per game on 466.8 yards per contest, while allowing just 31 sacks during the course of the year.

Gose, a finance major, was one of 12 student-athletes selected to the Academic All-America team with a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average.   He earned UAA Fall All-Academic honors this year, and was selected to the PAC Academic Honor Roll as a freshman.

This marks the fourth-consecutive year that a CWRU player has earned Academic All-America recognition, while Gose becomes the 30th player in the history of Spartan football to receive the honor.  He is the 106th Academic All-America honoree in the history of CWRU athletics, which began the year tied for the 13th-most Academic All-Americans among NCAA Division III institutions and the 46th-most among all collegiate athletic programs.

Gose joins volleyball player Karley King as Academic All-America honorees from Case Western Reserve thus far in the 2018-19 academic year.
