Former Carnegie Mellon University football standout wide receiver John Prather announced he has signed a contract to play professionally with the Sioux Falls Storm of the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Storm have won the IFL championship six times and have made eight straight appearances in the title game.

Prather, who played for the Tartans from 2014-17, ended his career as the school's all-time receiving leader (3,077), receptions leader (194) and touchdown receptions leader (25). He also holds single-season school records with 1,125 receiving yards, 66 receptions and 11 touchdown receptions. He became the first Tartan to record back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

Prather was a three-time All-University Athletic Association, two-time Presidents' Athletic Conference and an All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honoree with receiving first-team recognition from all three organizations following his senior season.

The Storm open their season on Saturday, February 23 at the Cedar Rapids River Kings.
