Chicago Finishes 16th in Final Learfield Cup Standings

The University of Chicago placed 16th in the final 2013-14 standings of the Division III Learfield Sports Directors' Cup. 

A total of 326 teams earned points in the 2013-14 academic year and Williams College topped the field for the second-straight year with 1,225.25 points. Three University Athletic Association (UAA) teams were ranked in the top 16.

The Maroons tallied 617 points total, including 140.50 in the spring. At the NCAA Championships, UChicago scored points in women's tennis (ninth), men's outdoor track and field (33rd), softball (49th) and women's outdoor track and field (56th).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup is a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. The points system is based on each institution's postseason finish in up to 18 sports (nine women's and nine men's).
