Emory University Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator Joyce Jaleel was recognized for her outstanding years of service on Wednesday, May 3, when she was awarded the Helen W.  Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award.  She was presented the honor at the Emory Campus Life 24th annual Awards and Service Recognition Luncheon.

This award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated lifetime commitment and effort as an employee/associate of the Division of Campus Life.  It is named in honor of Helen Jenkins who served as the Division’s Senior Food Service Liaison, and is presented only when a deserving candidate appears.   Dr. Ajay Nair, Senior Vice President & Dean of Campus Life presented Joyce with the award.

In addition, she was recognized by Athletics Director Dr. Michael Vienna for her 30 years at Emory, all of which have been in the athletic department, during the Recognition of Service portion of the program.

“We congratulate Joyce on the tremendous honor of earning the Helen W. Jenkins Lifetime Achievement Award,” said Vienna.  Her dedication and loyalty to Emory is second to none.  She consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty and is the department’s most trusted and valued colleague.  She is more than deserving of this great honor.

“Emory has benefitted from Joyce’s work ethic for the past 30 plus years, and those who have had the pleasure of working with her are certainly pleased to see her achieve the 30-year service award.”
