Anthony Azama Named to St. Louis Sports Commission Board of Directors

Washington University in St. Louis Director of Athletics Anthony J. Azama has been named to the St. Louis Sports Commission Board of Directors. 

The St. Louis Sports Commission's Board of Directors consists of regional business, community, and sports leaders who play a vital role in the organization's growth and success. Their leadership capabilities and expertise are of great value to the Sports Commission. 

Azama, who is in his second year leading the WashU Department of Athletics, will be representing WashU as an ex-officio member.

"Considering the many ways we connect with Washington University—especially through our Olympic Legacy initiative and our long-time partnership in co-hosting and producing events—it is an honor to welcome Anthony onto our board," said Frank Viverito, President, St. Louis Sports Commission.

The St. Louis Sports Commission is the independent, privately-funded nonprofit organization that makes St. Louis a better place to live, visit, work and play through sports. Its efforts focus on attracting, creating and managing major sporting events for the St. Louis region.
