Five UAA Institutions Rank in Top-14 of Directors' Cup Standings

Five UAA institutions are ranked among the top 14 teams in NCAA Division III in the current fall Learfield Directors’ Cup standings.

Led by a national championship in women's cross country, a runner-up finish in men's cross country, and a third-place finish for women's soccer, Washington University is the highest ranked UAA team at fourth.

With a third-place finish in men's soccer and points earned in women's and men's cross country, women's soccer, and volleybvall, University of Chicago is one spot begind the Bears.

An NCAA title in volleyball keyed Emory University's eighth-place standing, and University of Rochester rounded out the top-10 after a third-place finish in men's soccer.

The UAA's four top-10 institutions leads all DIII conferences.

A ninth-place finish in volleyball paced Carnegie Mellon University to 14th place in the current standings.

Case Western Reserve University (31st) and Brandeis University (46th) are also ranked in the next-to-last fall Directors' Cup standings.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.   

The next Division III fall standings will be released Thursday, December 20.
