Jacob Lees Named Assistant Director of Athletics at Rochester

From University of Rochester Athletics

Jacob Lees, who has served as an assistant football coach and fitness center director for the past 10 years at the University of Rochester, has been appointed to a full-time administrative role. Lees has been named an Assistant Director of Athletics, effective July 1, 2018.  This is part of a significant administrative reorganization following the retirement of long-time Associate Director Andrea Golden.

In his new role, Lees will oversee varsity operations. His duties will include managing all home events, including NCAA and conference championships. He will also manage game contracts and will have additional duties that support Rochester's 23-sport intercollegiate athletic program. Lees will be a member of the senior administrative team with Rochester's other associate and assistant directors.

Lees coached football at Rochester from 2008-2017. He was the Defensive Coordinator for five years. Fifteen defensive players earned All-Liberty League honors during his tenure in the last five years.

He came to the University in 2008 through the NCAA Minority Opportunity grant program. Lees was a student assistant in 2006, then a defensive assistant at Buffalo State College in Spring, 2007. He moved to Hamilton College as an assistant for the 2007 season, and then joined the Utica College staff as a graduate assistant in December 2007.

Lees holds an associate's degree from Alfred State and a bachelor's degree from Buffalo State.  He and his wife, Rebekah, reside in Henrietta, NY and are expecting their first child in July.
