Kris Shanley of Rochester Named Senior Woman Administrator

Associate Director of Athletics Kristine Shanley, who has served as a full-time  athletic administrator at the University of Rochester for the past 15 years, has been appointed NCAA Senior Woman Administrator replacing Andrea Golden, who is retiring after 22  years of service to the University.
 
Shanley has been affiliated with the University's athletic program for more than 20 years. She came to Rochester in 1998 in a part-time position as the first head softball coach. She spent two years in the UR dugout, then returned in 2001 as the first full-time head softball coach and facilities manager. She helped Rochester gain a playoff berth in the New York State championships in 2002.  She was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics in 2003 and Associate Director in 2007.
 
Continuing in her role as an Associate Director, Shanley will maintain overall responsibility for internal operations and represent the institution on a conference and national level.  She will provide support for 23 varsity teams and maintain oversight of facilities that serve as home to all varsity, intramural, club, and recreational programs.  She also serves as Deputy Title IX coordinator at the University.
 
Prior to her tenure at Rochester, Shanley was an NCAA basketball official, working Division I, II, and III games.  She is a 1987 graduate of SUNY Brockport with a degree in Physical Education. She earned her M.S. in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Brockport in 1995.
