Emory University senior Jake Davis (Cincinnati, OH)
has been selected by DIII News as Player of the
Month for February.
The 6-foot-5 Davis averaged a team-high 24.0 points, 5.6 rebounds
and 1.6 steals in helping the Eagles to a February record of
5-2. Davis led the team in scoring on four occasions
including back-to-back road games at Chicago (Feb. 7) and
Washington University (Feb. 9), picking up 28 points against UC
followed by a career-high 36 points, the fourth-highest individual
game total in school history, against the Bears. Over the
seven-game stretch, Davis connected on 45.1 percent from the floor
(55-of-122), including a team-leading 38.2 percent (13-of-34) from
three-point range, and was outstanding from the foul line,
converting 45 of his 48 opportunities.
Entering the final weekend of the regular season, Davis tops the
University Athletic Association in scoring in both overall (23.0
ppg) and league (22.8 ppg) action. He has produced 23
contests of double-figure scoring and has registered 20 or more
points on 15 occasions.
