From NYU Athletics
Evan Kupferberg of the New York University
men's basketball team was named Eastern College Athletic Conference
(ECAC) Division III Metro Player of the Week on Tuesday, February
11.
The sophomore led the Violets (15-5, 5-4 University Athletic
Association) to two home victories last weekend at the Coles Sports
Center in Manhattan. NYU defeated Carnegie Mellon University 92-86
in overtime on Friday night, February 7, and followed it up with a
79-74 victory over Case Western Reserve University on Sunday
afternoon, February 9.
Kupferberg registered 27 points and seven rebounds, both of which
tied for the game-high honors and stood alone as team-highs, during
the Violets' win over the Tartans on Friday. In addition, he
registered his eighth double-double of the season when he scored a
team-high 25 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds in a
career-best 38 minutes during the win over the Spartans.
The 6-foot-6, Boca Raton, FL, native now leads NYU in both scoring
(18.3 points-per-game) and rebounding (9.5 rebounds-per-game), and
ranks second in the Association in both categories.
