Senior forward Brian Klements (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) scored a career-high 17 points, and the No. 25 Case Western Reserve University men's basketball team rolled past the University of Rochester, 65-37, on Sunday afternoon at the Louis Alexander Palestra.

The Spartans (13-3, 4-1 UAA) grab sole possession of first place in the University Athletic Association standings. The Yellowjackets fall to 5-11 (1-4 UAA).

The Sunday road conference win was the first for the team since a 57-51 upset of then No. 6 Rochester on February 17, 2013. The 37 points allowed are a CWRU program record, and the point output was Rochester's worst since 2001.

Klements also totaled seven rebounds, three blocks and three steals. The senior captain shot 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-3 from three-point range.

In addition to Klements, senior center Connor Edel (Akron, Ohio/Revere) posted eight points and five rebounds, while senior guard Julien Person (Paris, France/Second Baptist, Texas) totaled nine points, five boards and six assists.

Rochester was led by Tyler Seidman and Sam Borst-Smith with six points each.  

The Spartans led the entire way and shot 11-of-16 from three-point range.

The hot shooting began early and led to a first-half lead of 18 at the 5:08 mark as junior point guard Jimmy Holman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) nailed his second straight three-pointer to make the score 30-12. The advantage held strong into halftime with CWRU ahead, 36-19.

The 19 points was the lowest halftime total for Rochester all season. The Spartans shot 7-of-8 from three-point range and 14-of-25 from the field overall.

In the second, the Spartans held Rochester scoreless for the opening 5:05 en route to building a 32-point lead as senior point guard Jordan Dean (St. Johns, Fla./Creekside) hit a three-pointer to bump the count to 53-21. From there, the CWRU lead reached as many as 34 on two separate occasions.
