Evan Kupferberg, Hakeem Harris of NYU Named to ECAC Metro All-Star Team

Evan Kupferberg and Hakeem Harris of the New York University men's basketball team were both named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Metro All-Star Team on Tuesday, April 7. Kupferberg was named to the First Team, while Harris earned Second Team honors.,

Kupferberg, a junior forward from Boca Raton, FL, started 27 games for the Violets and led the team in rebounding (11.1 rpg), field goals made (198) and free throws made (85), while finishing second in scoring (17.8 ppg). He was also first in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in rebounding and field goal percentage (.579), and fourth in scoring.,

Harris, a junior guard from New York, NY, played 22 games for the Violets and led the team in scoring (18.6 ppg) and three-point percentage (.466). Both of those marks ranked second in the UAA.

This is the fourth postseason honor for Kupferberg and the third for Harris. Both players earned National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-District,honors and, All-UAA honors, while Kupferberg also earned D3hoops.com First Team All-East Region accolades.

The duo helped lead NYU to a 19-9 overall record and to the title game of the ECAC Division III Metro Championship.
