Rising sophomores Ross Udine and David Katz of the New York University men's basketball team have been chosen to represent the United States at the 14th European Maccabi Games in Germany. The games are being held in Berlin from July 27-August 5.

Udine and Katz will compete on the Open Division men's basketball team against Jewish athletes from 35 other countries.

Udine is coming off of a successful freshman campaign for the Violets. He finished the season with 9.2 ppg and 5.5 apg in 28.2 minutes played per game. The Weston, FL, native was third in the University Athletic Association (UAA) in assists per game and earned UAA Co-Rookie of the Year honors.

Katz played reserve minutes in his first season. The six-foot guard had his best performance against Becker College, when he scored two points and had one steal.
