University of Chicago men's basketball player Eric Robinson was announced as one of 251 nominees for the 2015 Allstate NABC and WBCA Good Works Teams on Wednesday.

The Good Works Teams are a collaborative recognition by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Allstate Insurance Company. According to the press release, this community service award "recognizes a distinguished group of student-athletes who have demonstrated a commitment to enriching the lives of others and contributing to the greater good in their communities."

Robinson is a junior forward on the Maroon men's basketball squad who is majoring in comparative human development. He plans to pursue a career as a medical doctor. Robinson's extracurricular involvement includes serving as a volunteer in the UChicago medical center emergency room, assisting research for hearing-impaired children and participating in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising events.

The NABC totaled 158 male nominees and the WBCA tallied 93 female nominees. Voting panels will select two 10-member teams comprised of five student-athletes from the NCAA Division I level and five student-athletes from NCAA Divisions II, III and the NAIA. The 20 award recipients will be announced in February.
