Six Rochester Student-Athletes and Team Honored by NABC

Six  men's basketball players from the University of Rochester and the team overall have been honored for academics by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
 
The Yellowjackets received the NABC's Team Academic Excellence Award. More than 175 colleges and universities were recognized this season. The award is bestowed on those programs which accumulate a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher throughout the 2014-15 season.
 
Further, six players were named to the 2015 NABC Honors Court. To qualify for the award, the players must be a junior or senior academically, have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher at the end of the 2014-15 academic year, have matriculated for at least one full year at their current institution, and they must play at an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with an NABC member coach.
 
Rochester's six members of the Honors Court are senior Alex Hoey (Brain & Cognitive Sciences), junior Dylan Peretz (Psychology), senior Tyler Sankes (Business), senior Tyler Seidman (Business/English), junior Jared Seltzer (Psychology), and senior Kevin Sheehy (English).
 
Among the eight University Athletic Association schools, Rochester and Washington-St. Louis led the way with six individuals apiece. Six UAA schools received the team award.
