The Maroons (4-2 record) won their third-straight game and the Loggers fell to 2-3 on the season. The 29-point win was UChicago's largest margin of victory since an 84-31 win versus Illinois Institute of Technology on Jan. 3, 2015 (53 points).

Junior point guard Tyler Howard made a free throw and a three-pointer back-to-back, and senior forward Nate Brooks threw down a dunk to make the score 14-10 in favor of the Maroons midway through the first half. A 12-2 run by the visitors then made the score 26-16. Junior forward Waller Perez got things rolling with five-straight points, including an and-one opportunity. Two consecutive treys followed immediately afterwards.

Brooks racked up 10 points in the first half, including two free throws and yet another dunk in the last two minutes. UChicago went into halftime leading 34-23. Howard dished out five assists in that time and scored six points while running the offense.

Puget Sound only shot 28 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes and it didn't get any better in the second half. The Maroons methodically built up their lead to 43-27 thanks to three-straight jumpers from beyond the arc, including two by senior forward Alex Voss. UChicago netted 11 three-pointers in the game. After converting four field goals in-a-row, the Maroons held a 65-37 advantage and cruised from there.
