Washington University Men’s Basketball Named NABC DIII Team of the Week

The Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III Team of the Week for for games played Dec. 11-17. 

WashU was one of five school to receive the award joining Rutgers (Division I), Lincoln Memorial (Division II), Columbia (NAIA) and Ancilla (NAIA).

Head coach Mark Edwards led the No. 10-ranked Bears to a pair of road wins last week by a combined total of 56 points. WashU improved its overall record to 8-1, including a 4-1 mark on the road.

On Tuesday, the Bears shot a season-high 56.7 percent en route to a 98-68 victory at Fontbonne University. WashU followed that up with a dominant first half on Sunday to claim a 95-69 win over regional rival Illinois Wesleyan, which entered the game with just one loss on the season.
