Washington University Men’s Basketball Named NABC DIII Team of the Week

From Washington University Athletics

The Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III Team of the Week for games played Jan. 22-28. This marks the second time this season WashU has earned the honor (Dec. 19).

WashU was one of five schools to receive the award joining Virginia (Division I), Francis Marion (S.C.) (Division II), Union (K.Y.) (NAIA) and Northwest Florida State (NJCAA/Two-Year Colleges).

Head coach Mark Edwards guided the Bears to a 77-62 victory at then-No. 22 Rochester behind a well-rounded attack that featured five players in double figures. WashU followed that up with an 84-67 win at then-No. 13 Emory on Sunday as the five senior starters scored 80 of 84 points. With the win Sunday, the Bears took sole possession of first place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings.
