University of Rochester junior forward Ryan Algier was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Mark’s Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout as the Yellowjackets finished 2-0. He scored 21 points, adding nine rebounds and three blocks, in a 78-75 victory over 25th-ranked St. John Fisher College on Thursday. Algier poured in 33 points, hitting 13 of 17 field goals, with career-highs of 13 rebounds and five assists in the Yellowjackets’ 77-56 win over Nazareth College. In the two games, he averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 72.4 percent from the floor (21 of 29).
