From NYU Athletics
Eight members of the New York University men's fencing team
competed on day two of the North American Cup on Saturday, January
10, in Salt Lake City, UT.
NYU was represented on Saturday in both the Division I men's epee
and the senior team men's sabre competitions.
John Cramerus, Hans Engel, Mir
Ali, Evan Accardi, and Malcolm
Lewis each participated in the Division I men's epee
individual competition. Cramerus had the most impressive
performance for NYU, going 6-0 in the round-robin portion of the
tournament. Engel also had a successful showing with a 4-1 record
during round-robin competition.
Cramerus was the only Violet to take home a win in the bracket
portion of the men's eppe competition. The sophomore finished in
33rd place of 253 competitors.

Burgunder and Josiah
Teng represented NYU in the senior team men's epee
event. The trio won their first match before falling to the
eventual champions in the quarterfinal round.
