New York University's long-time Assistant Fencing Coach, Kornel Udvarhelyi, has been chosen as the USA National Team Men's Epee Coach by USA Fencing.
Udvarhelyi, who has been serving in the same capacity as an interim coach for USA Fencing since 2015, is in his 15th season as a member of the NYU fencing staff. He began with the Violets in 2001, stepped away during the 2004-05 season, and has been with both the men's and women's programs ever since.
"This is a great honor," Udvarhelyi said. "I am extremely happy to try and help our team qualify for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo."
During his time at NYU, Udvarhelyi has helped lead the Violets to a top-25 ranking every season.
