The New York University men's fencing team defeated Stevens Institute of Technology 20-7 on Tuesday, February 21, in Hoboken, NJ.
NYU were dominant all three weapons, posting an 8-1 victory in sabre and 6-3 wins in both foil and epee.
Four Violets - junior Hans Engel (epee), sophomores Kyle Welch (foil) and Mickey Bak (sabre), and freshman Matt Chen (sabre) - went 3-0 on the evening.
"We were pretty dominant tonight," said NYU Assistant Coach Lauren Willock Wunderlich.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS:
- Senior Quinten Burgunder went 2-1 for the Violets in sabre.
- Junior Philip Shin went a perfect 2-0 in foil.
- Freshman Alexandre Crepeaux went 2-1 in epee.
