NYU Competes at Tradition Tournament

On Sunday, December 2, the New York University men's fencing team competed in the Tradition Tournament, hosted by Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.  

The Violets finished 3-3 with wins against Vassar College (20-7), New Jersey Institute of Technology (15-12) and Sacred Heat (23-4). Their only losses came against Princeton University (11-6), Harvard University (18-9) and Penn State University (20-7).

In foil, Kyle Welch led the way going 11-4 overall while Zohaib Mannan finished with a record of 8-7. 

Bryan Moise went 8-4 in sabre and Zachary Schindler finished 7-5. 

Sam Bekker recorded the most victories of any Violet, finishing 13-4 in epee.

"The team did excellent today," said Head Coach Steve Mormando. "We also had good contributions from our freshman."
