Rain Shortens McDaniel Invitational; Rochester Finishes Second

Nick Palladino fired a one-over par 73 to lead Rochester on the first day of the McDaniel College Spring Invitational at The Bridges Golf Course, a score that would earn him medalist honors after day two of the tournament was cancelled due to an unplayable course.
 
He registered 13 pars, two birdies, and three bogeys on the 6,713 yard, par 72 course.
 
Matt van Niekerk shot a four-over 76 and was Rochester's second low scorer and ended in a tie for 4th place. He had one birdie and five bogeys. Will Mallia was T-9th and stood at six-over with a 78. He had three birdies, but eight bogeys. Jona Scott had an eight-over 80 with no birdies and was T-16th. G.W. VanderZwaag had one birdie in his 18 holes and finished with an 84 (12 over).
 
Rochester totaled 307 strokes for its four low scorers (Palladino, van Niekerk, Mallia, Scott) and finished in 2nd place overall. St. John Fisher fired a 305 to capture the team title in the one-day event.
