The University of Rochester carded a final round 301 to finish in fifth place at the Notre Dame Oak Hill Intercollegiate on Tuesday afternoon at Oak Hill Country Club.

The Yellowjackets improved their score for the second straight round, and ended with a total score of 927 for the two-day, three round tournament.  Host Notre Dame took home the team title with a score of 866, edging out Nebraska who finished with an 870.  Boston College ended third and Georgetown was fourth.

Senior Nick Palladino led Rochester with a score of 222 (+12) for the tournament, finishing in a tie for 9th place.  Palladino improved every round, finishing Tuesday's round with an even par-70, the second lowest score in the final round.  He made a total of four birdies and four bogies on his round.  The UR senior finished sixth in the field in par-4 scoring and ended making the seventh most birdies overall in the field.

UR's second scorer on Tuesday was freshman Matt van Niekerk, who carded a final round 73, making three birdies, including back to back on holes 13 and 14.  Van Niekerk ended as the third overall Rochester player in the lineup, finishing in a tie for 28th place.  He shot 235 for the three rounds.

Sophomore Dominick Schumacher ended in a tie for 21st after shooting a final day 81 for a two day score of 231.

Senior Will Mallia carded a 77 for Rochester on Tuesday, ending in 37th place while freshman Jona Scott placed in a tie for 38th after he earned his third straight 81 on Tuesday.

The Yellowjacket individual players shined in the final round as sophomore G.W. VanderZwaag fired a 72 (+2), making three birdies and five bogies on his round.  He finished in a tie for 19th with a 230 score.  Freshman Joe Malone also had a solid final day, shooting his second straight 74 to finish with a three round score of 231, good for T-21st.

The University of Rochester and Notre Dame served as co-hosts of the tournament after UR gave up its traditional Oak Hill tournament date to let Notre Dame come in and host the tournament.  The event was Notre Dame's way of honoring senior player Andrew Lane, a Rochester native and Oak Hill member, for his four years of play in the Notre Dame program.
