From Carnegie Mellon University
The Carnegie Mellon University men's golf team competed at the
final day of the 36-hole Hal Hansen Invitational Monday, September
8 and fired a team score of 309 finishing with a team score of
607. The Tartans 607 placed sixth on the par 72 Clarion Oaks
Golf Club. The two day event was hosted by Clarion
University.
Gannon won the invitational with a 590 with Mercyhurst finishing
two strokes back with a 592. California (Pa.) placed third
after carding a 600, host Clarion shot 600 and West Chester shot
606 followed by the Tartans.
Senior Justin Fischler (Avon, Conn.) led the Tartans a
seventh place individual finish out of a field of 65 with a 148
(72-76). Senior Cameron Low (Los Angeles,
Calif./Windward) and sophomore Jordan
Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) tied for 16th with a 36-hole total
of 151. Sophomore George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde
Academy) carded an 83 on Monday while freshman Nikhil
Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) shot an
83 as the two finished the invitational with scores of 158 and 160,
respectively.
Carnegie Mellon had one individual enter the invitational, as
sophomore Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) had
rounds of 78 and 81 to finish with a 159.
