Carnegie Mellon Places Fifth at Guy W. Kuhn Invitational

Sophomores George Qian (Bettendorf, Iowa/Montverde Academy) fired back-to-back rounds of 75 for a two-day total of 150 to finish tied for sixth individually at the annual Allegheny College Guy W. Kuhn Memorial Invitational hosted at the par 72 Country Club of Meadville.  The Tartans carded a 314 on Monday to finish with a 622 and tied for fifth-place as a team.

Washington & Jefferson held onto its lead after day one to win the team championship after firing a 36-hole total of 603.  Gannon University finished with a 613 followed by Saint Vincent College with a 614. Jake Reed of Saint Vincent was the individual medalist after shooting an one-over par 145.

Following Qian, sophomore Jordan Klodowski (Kittanning, Pa.) tied for 14th with a 155 (75-80), senior Cameron Low (Los Angeles, Calif./Windward) tied for 22nd with a 36-hole total of 158 (81-77). Senior Justin Fischler (Avon, Conn.) shot a 161 (77-84) followed by freshman Nikhil Mohan (Bangalore, India/Canadian International School) who shot a 1667 (85-82).

Carnegie Mellon had one individual enter the invitational, as sophomore Brad Jennette (Pittsford, N.Y./Sutherland) placed tied for ninth individually with a 152.  The sophomore bettered his opening-round score by eight strokes on Monday to card a career-best round of even-par 72, which marked the Tartans low round of the invitational.
