NYU Finishes Second at Tim Brown Invitational

New York University's men's golf team finished in second place at the Tim Brown Invitational on Sunday, April 18, at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The Violets shot 598 (302-296) as a team, finishing the two-day competition in second place out of nine competitors. Skidmore College won the tournament after shooting 591 overall.

NYU's top scorer of the day was freshman Christopher Nolte, who shot 147 (76-71) and finished the competition tied for third place.

"We had a really great weekend. The freshman played really well, and there was great effort from the whole team," said NYU Head Coach Todd Kolean. "Chris came back really great today to finish strong."

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Freshman Paul Park shot 76 in round two, finishing with an overall score of 148 and tying for seventh place.

- Freshman Hartej Gill finished the tournament with a final score of 150 (78-72) to place 11th.

- Senior captain Matthew Gjonaj tied for 16th place after shooting 153 overall (76-77).

"Hartej had a really solid round, too," added Kolean. "After a couple rough weeks, we are hopefully peaking just in time."
